2017 National Chess Championship Finals;Tokelo Klass wins the Championship once again

On the 16th and 17th Deember 2017 the Chess Federation of Lesotho hosted the National Chess Championship finals at the BMI. The National Chess Championship is an annual event, even though due to lack of funds the tournament did not go on in 2016, therefore in accordance to this the defending champion was from 2015,Mr Kananelo Latela who was battling with the 2015 tournament qualifiers, from three regions; South: Mohale’s Hoek, North: Leribe and Butha-Buthe , and Central: Maseru. About 40 players were expected from all regions, Mphetola Mona, Malehloa Likhomo, Malillo Phera, Tokelo Klass, Sechaba Khalema, Bakoena Seboka, Teboho Makhele, and Lieketseng Ngatane are just a few from the 2015 qualifiers that played at this tournament.

The 2017 Top 3 winners of the National Chess Championship finals; Tokelo Klass maintained his champion position, his rival is Honourable Joang Molapo on the second position, and Ramokotjo Lekau on the third position. Reitumetse Taioe came out as a Best Lady and Moorosi Makhele as the Best Under 12
